Rwanda is steadily progressing to meet its climate change mitigation goals and is also focused on ensuring the economy and its people can resiliently withstand the increasing effects of climate change through a number of adaptation measures.

These climate change goals are part of the country’s Vision 2050 where Rwanda aims to transition to a carbon-neutral and resilient economy by 2050, through the reduction of its greenhouse gas emissions by 38% by 2030 (in line with its 2018 Nationally Determined Contribution Partnership Plan (“NDC”)).
