Simon is a New Zealand and Australia-admitted international lawyer. He is a Teaching Fellow and PhD Candidate at the Law Faculty, Victoria University of Wellington (NZ). He is also a Visiting Scholar at the New Zealand Centre for Indigenous Peoples and the Law at the Auckland University Faculty of Law. After reading for his first two law degrees in Australia, Simon completed an LLM in Global Environmental Law at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in New York (USA) (ranked as America’s/the world’s best environmental law school). He also graduated with a Master’s in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge (UK), a Master’s in International Human Rights Law from the University of Oxford (UK), and obtained further postgraduate law and policy qualifications from UC Berkeley, Stanford University, and Harvard Law School (USA). Simon previously worked in legal practice globally, advising the United Nations, multi-international companies, legal NGOs, the judiciary, governments, and leading international law firms.
