Oscar holds a PhD in International Development from the University of East Anglia (UEA); a Master’s degree in International Commercial and Business Law, focused on the stock market, arbitration and comparative approaches (UEA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
He worked as a law practitioner in the securities market for 11 years in Mexico. With a continuous interest in the stock market and social stock exchanges, he has focused on law and international development across diverse aspects of social science research. His experience includes ethnographic and comparative methods, including socio-legal and social anthropological research. Currently, he works on social impact evaluation for small non-profit organisations.
Oscar is a member of Social Value UK and the ‘Global Network MX’ (Mexican professionals abroad), where he collaborates on external alliances, academic initiatives and activities related to international cooperation for development. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of ‘Causa Natura’, a think-tank on biodiversity, based in Mexico.
