Kris brings a powerful blend of legal expertise, cross-sector leadership, and mission-aligned investing to his role at Venn Foundation. Before joining Venn, Kris served as foundation counsel for the largest private operating foundation in New England. He oversaw governance and compliance across affiliated entities in health sciences, education, and senior living, and served on the foundation’s $4 billion finance committee. Kris led the launch of the foundation’s first program-related investment (PRI) initiative, an experience that sparked his passion for using catalytic capital to advance the public good. Earlier in his career, Kris was legal counsel to an entrepreneurial, privately held company, advising on all aspects of its operations during a period of growth and national expansion. He also has held legal roles with local and federal government agencies during times of crisis and organizational transition, providing strategic legal guidance on complex regulatory, operational, and policy challenges.
