Chuks Ibechukwu is one of the founding members of Olaniwun Ajayi (UK) LLP, the international arm of leading African law firm, Olaniwun Ajayi LP. He also chairs its Corporate Finance practice. Highly proficient in impact investing and development finance, he has advised development organisations, financial institutions, governments and corporate investors on more than 50 banking and finance, project, corporate and structured finance deals that have achieved completion and contributed over US$ 40 billion of committed capital in almost 20 developing countries and emerging economies.
Before joining Olaniwun Ajayi, he was Senior Counsel and Africa Regional Lead for Private Equity and Funds at International Finance Corporation, the private sector finance arm of the World Bank Group, where he held lead lawyer responsibility advising investment teams on a wide range of debt and equity investments in Africa. English law qualified, with over 15 years post qualification experience, he previously worked across project finance, banking and finance and capital markets at the global law firms, Latham & Watkins LLP, Allen & Overy LLP and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP. He sits on the Legal Regulatory Committee of the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.
