Luke co-leads Bates Wells’ Purpose & Impact Strategy Group, and works on a wide range of corporate and finance matters for impact-driven organisations of different kinds. Luke’s work includes advising major corporates and financial institutions in relation to the formation of corporate foundations and strategic philanthropy, and advising businesses and investors on B Corp certification and on other ways to articulate and embed corporate purpose. Luke has also acted for claimants in a successful and ground-breaking claim in the area of UK charity investment, in support of alignment with the Paris Agreement. Luke’s practice includes the incorporation and registration of impact-driven organisations, finance and banking, governance, group structuring, impact investing, social finance and charity law.
