Alberta is a 9 year PQE maritime lawyer specialising in non-contentious ship finance matters as well as in shipping dispute resolution. She works at the London office of Ince, a law firm with a heritage in shipping reaching back 150 years, which is now a “full service” firm with offices in various jurisdictions. Alberta’s areas of interest include ESG and the decarbonisation of the industry, and how this transition may be just and equitable. Alberta is native Italian, from Venice, and dual-qualified in England and Ireland. Her practice has an international focus.
Alberta attended the Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTA)’s ShipZero event in Glasgow during COP26, promoting rapid and large-scale uptake of Zero Emissions Ship Technology. Alberta is excited to see that this prompted a strategic partnership between Ince and ZESTA, purporting to accelerate the transition to true zero-emissions shipping ahead of 2030. Alberta is also involved as a Mentor in acceleration programs supporting the development of innovative projects in the field of sustainability, with a particular focus on ocean sustainability. Alberta is qualified as a Blueinvest Coach and recent experience includes mentoring startups for MITdesignX Venice, the Venture Accelerator for Venice of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s School of Architecture and Planning.
