Sarah is a Dispute Resolution and ESG Partner at international law firm Watson Farley & Williams, a co-founder of and co-creator at the Legal Innovation for Sustainable Investments (LISI) Foundation, a contributor to the just transition materials produced by The Chancery Lane Project, a member of the Society for Computers and Law Sustainability and ESG Committee and a member of the IBA Business and Human Rights Committee.  Sarah is based in London.

Matt has more than 20 years of experience as an impact lawyer, beginning when he represented the United Nations Global Compact and Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) in their formative years as an associate at Latham & Watkins in New York and London and then as acting head of legal and policy at the UN Global Compact Secretariat.  He has since acted as general counsel at the pioneer in the impact investment investment space in Asia, Singapore-based Impact Investment Exchange and as a lawyer and leader of the sustainability team for a solar technology company based in Singapore that won numerous awards within two years of Matt taking over the sustainability program.  Matt has a juris doctor from Northwestern University, was a Fulbright Scholar and is an inaugural member of the Legal 500’s Green GC Powerlist.

Nick Flynn is Head of Legal at Avaaz which means ‘voice’ in many languages. Avaaz’s 70 million members worldwide campaign on the biggest issues of the day, fighting climate change, protecting biodiversity and democracy and regulating Big Tech to name but a few. Nick is a trustee of the Environmental Law Foundation and was formerly an environmental lawyer at leading UK and US firms where he co-founded the Legal Response Initiative (a charity helping developing countries navigate the UN climate change negotiations) and Advocates for International Development (a legal network to help achieve the MDGs and SDGs). A recovering Londoner, Nick now lives happily by the sea with his wife, Lucy, and children, Aidan and Isabel.

Philomena Cleobury is a Senior Legal Officer in the Legal Affairs Service of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), based in Geneva. Philomena advises on a wide range of matters in the context of providing legal support to UNHCR’s operations in over 130 countries, in support of UNHCR’s mandate to deliver assistance and protection to refugees and forcibly displaced people. Her work includes advising on finance agreements to provide cash assistance to refugees and displaced people; cooperation across the UN; innovative finance solutions; governance matters; and a range of policy issues. Philomena has also worked in the UNICEF Legal Office as Chief of the Partnerships, Programmes and Innovation Section, as well as in the UN Office of the Legal Counsel in New York where she advised on a broad range of matters of international law, including related to international and UN-assisted criminal tribunals; new accountability mechanisms; peacekeeping operations; international humanitarian law; privileges and immunities and host country agreements. Before joining the UN, Philomena specialised in international arbitration with global law firm, Linklaters LLP. She also worked for the Law Commission of England & Wales. Philomena holds an LLM with distinction in Public International Law from UCL, and a BA (Hons) in Jurisprudence with European Law from Corpus Christi College, Oxford and the University of Leiden, Netherlands.
