Dr. Ammara Farooq Malik is a Pakistani corporate and impact lawyer, international social entrepreneur and international development expert with over 24 years of professional experience across various transdisciplinary areas such as law, business and international development. She is Founder of the Seplaa Group (CEO of Seplaa Consultants Canada Inc. and Seplaa Enterprises-Pakistan) and AFMalik Law.

As Founder Principal Attorney of AFMalik Law- Attorneys & International Development Consultants, she is also the first impact lawyer of Pakistan focusing on the integration of ESG (Environment, Sustainability & Governance) clauses in companies’ legal compliance documents and has created the 5 Cog Wheels for Sustainable Business Strategy Tool for impact law, impact investing and policy integration in impact businesses for a transdisciplinary holistic approach towards development.

She has presented as a legal, gender, climate change and social enterprise expert at international conferences at UNESCO (Kazakhstan), CGA New York University (USA), University of Kent (UK), International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development-ICIMOD (Nepal), Asia Pacific Adaptation Network’s Climate Change Adaptation Forum (Colombo and Manila), Hollings Centre for International Development (Maldives & Turkey) and the Asian Development Bank (Singapore).

Dr. Joanne Chai is the Hong Kong/APAC Regional Council Member at Seplaa Global Impact Network (SGIN). Initially trained as a lawyer, she has built a distinguished career in business consulting at the intersection of technology, finance, and law, advising major multinational corporations on digital transformation. Her multidisciplinary background enables her to engage effectively with SGIN members and stakeholders, fostering knowledge sharing, collaboration and strategic partnerships. Committed to sustainable growth, Dr. Chai focuses on creating meaningful social impact by addressing the challenges that arise in these dynamic fields.

Pratik is a Counsel in the ESG and Impact practice of BTG Advaya. Pratik is engaged by clients from various sectors, such as, retail, technology and extraction to advise on issues relating to Business and Human Rights (BHR), Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), human rights due diligence and business sustainability.

Pratik has also been actively involved in policy and advocacy, and has been consulted for the drafting of a modern slavery legislation, and a legislation on strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPP). He was also invited to join the sounding board for the drafting of the Hague Rules on Business and Human Rights Arbitration, chaired by former ICJ Judge Bruno Simma.

Amal Farooq Malik is a law undergraduate student in her final year at the University of Warwick, and an aspiring lawyer. She is a member of the Seplaa Global Impact Network (SGIN) and the Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers (GAIL). She is interested in exploring different areas of the law, including commercial law, intellectual property law and impact law.
