ALITA + GAIL AI & Legal Practice Roundtable London – AI’s Impact on the Future of Legal Profession, Ethics and Access to Justice
Coinciding with London Climate Action Week, Asia-Pacific Legal Innovation & Technology Association (ALITA), in conjunction with Global Alliance of Impact Lawyers, is pleased to be convening their Inaugural joint AI & Legal Practice Roundtable London on June 24, 2026, to coincide with Hong Kong-based ALITA co-chair and GAIL APAC board member Brian Tang being in London to speak at FT Innovative Lawyers Global Summit.
ALITA has hosted roundtables of leading legal practitioners from law firms, legal departments and legaltechs around the world, including in Hong Kong, Singapore, New Delhi, Malaysia, Manila, London, and Seoul, and GAIL has prominently featured the impact of AI at its GAIL Annual Summits in London and Mexico, including hosting a JusticeTech & AI for Law Students Workshop.
The roundtable will have a Chatham House rules format for practitioners to discuss the opportunities and challenges in adopting AI, especially as it relates to the future of the legal profession and access to justice.
Some key topics will include:
– The role and relationship of lawyers in relation to AI and the duty to clients
– AI training of law students and lawyers to prevent cognitive offloading from AI over-reliance
– Impact of AI on access to justice and the environment, including the role of open source AI and sovereign AI
