Samheeta Rao is a Partner at GLA’s Bengaluru office, and has over 16 years of post-qualification experience. Prior to joining GLA, Samheeta co-headed the legal department of Goldman Sachs’ Bengaluru office and was Goldman’s sole employment counsel covering their India offices.
As a partner at GLA, Samheeta has worked extensively with several leading Indian Social Enterprises, including for-profit organizations and NPOs and helped them navigate a complex legal and regulatory environment and has strengthened the firm’s Social Enterprises practice. She routinely advises clients on their day to day compliance issues, employment matters that arise from time to time, legal entity structuring, and reviewing their key contracts, such as donor agreements, vendor contracts, etc. She also assists corporates and donees alike, in relation to compliance with India’s corporate social responsibility regulations.
She also brings to the table strong transactional and advisory experience, having spent the first 6 years of her career at the Bengaluru office of Amarchand Mangaldas Suresh A. Shroff & Co., where she advised clients on mergers and acquisitions transactions and private equity transactions.
Samheeta graduated from the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru in 2006.
